My name is Gialisa Tianna Funes.

 

I am a 14 year old student going into the 9th grade at North Valley High School.

 

My shade of queening is kindness confidence and helping others.

 

If crowned Miss Reno Juneteenth my Queens in the Making initiative will be focused on helping young girls believe in themselves and not be afraid to be who they are. I want to help them see the good in themselves and know that they are special.

 

I will host events centered around self love confidence being active helping the community and supporting each other. I also want to have events where girls can talk learn grow and feel safe being themselves.

 

My goal is to be a good example and to make a difference in my community. I want to show others that being a queen is not just about a crown. It is about being kind helping people and using your voice for good.

My name is Jayda Butler. I am an upcoming junior at Hug High School.

My shades of queening is visionary, and purpose-driven. I will use my voice, personality, and people skills to uplift girls of color and help them find their confidence, whether it is personal or public.

When I am Miss Reno Juneteenth, my motive will be to empower girls and women of color and embrace their ethnicity. As well as give them support and ideas to be better than they were yesterday and help future young queens understand their limitless potential and how to correctly advocate for themselves.

 

I will host beauty care workshops, mental health workshops, and community building workshops.

I am currently an 11th-grade student at Hug High School and will be entering the 12th grade this fall. I am on track to graduate with an Honors Diploma, and I am committed to achieving excellence both academically and personally.

 

My shade of queening is resilience. I strive to live with courage, determination, and purpose, believing that every challenge is an opportunity for growth. I am passionate about inspiring others to persevere through obstacles and pursue their goals with confidence.

 

If crowned Miss Reno Juneteenth, my Queens in the Making initiative will focus on helping young girls build confidence, develop leadership skills, and understand that their future is not defined by their circumstances, but by their determination, character, and vision.

 

Through mentorship, community involvement, and positive engagement, I will host events centered around bringing together young Black teens, creating meaningful connections, encouraging personal growth, and empowering them to become strong leaders in their communities.

 

I believe that when young women are supported, encouraged, and given opportunities to grow, they can achieve greatness and inspire the next generation to do the same.
